Ababu Namwamba Foundation (ANF) has today awarded a full four-year scholarship to Oduori Nyongesa Edwin who scored 384 marks in KCPE 2015 at Budokomi Primary School in Matayos Constituency.
Edwin was subsequently admitted to Bungoma Boys High School, but lost his place due to lack of fees. He got a second chance at Sigalame High School but hadn't reported yet.
ANF applauds the positive use of social media that highlighted the plight of Edwin through Eve Okumu, who shall act as
his guardian. ANF appreciates all those that joined hands to try and mobilize help for Edwin. The young man can now pursue his academic dream unperturbed. It is through such joint efforts that we shall, as a community, county and country achieve our dream of education for all.
Ababu Namwamba Foundation has over the last 13 years supported and still continues to support bright but needy students across the country, to access primary, technical, tertiary and University education.
Indeed Edwin now joins a distinguished roll of ANF scholars, who include Lucy Musitwa who recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Cuba, Victor Juma currently pursuing his PhD at Sussex University in the UK, Sylvester Wangira currently an Engineer with Davis & Shirtliff after graduating from the University of Nairobi and Collins Njura who just graduated with a Bsc. Electrical Engineering from Multi-Media University...among many others.
