The AbabuNamwamba Foundation (ANF) has been in existence since 2000. Through its programmes, projects and activities many young people have obtained an opportunity to excel in education, enterprise and talents. In reviewing and appreciating the rich impact of the foundation and in examining emerging trends and challenges facing youth in Kenya, the ANF Board hereby craft a strategic plan that will provide direction in implementing creative interventions to transform society during the plan period.
The main objective of the foundation is to enhance community development through education, economic empowerment and talent growth. In specific terms the foundation aims to:
Education is a core pillar of the foundation. We believe education is the best investment one can provide humanity. It is a prerequisite to success in a knowledge-based society and economy.
The foundation aims at helping to foster interconnected and culturally vibrant communities in which low‐income citizens have the tools and opportunities necessary for jobs and careers that lead to economic self‐sufficiency.
The foundation seeks to identify and develop youth gifted in different ways so that they can use their talents as a means of improving their lives and at the same time, make careers out of them and be professionals in their different fields.
The foundation is in the process of identifying and purchasing a property that will house all the programmes. The foundation will also invest in facilities and equipment that will enable staff and the Board to function optimally in fulfilling the mandate of the foundation.
The overall goal of the foundation is to create an enabling environment and provide support to youth and communities to gain sufficient knowledge, skills, attitudes and framework to advance in their academics, talents and entrepreneurship harnessing their full potential to transform their destiny and shape their future for sustainable development.
